The production of compost extracts
The steps involved in the production of compost extracts (KEX), in the system developed for this purpose, are demonstrated using a 100-liter unit below. The individual steps are the same for all sizes of appliance.
Information about the different extraction devices can be found here.
Step 1 - Fill water tank
Step 1
Fill the tank with (non-chlorinated) water up to the corresponding mark.
Step 2 - Add microbe activator
Step 2Add Bionika Microbe Activator (Catalyst) to the water, which you can also purchase directly from our webshop. If only chlorinated water is available, the unit must first run for 30 minutes before adding the catalyst to allow the chlorine to escape.
Step 3 - Fill sieve with extract compost
Step 3
Fill the cylindrical sieve with the special Bionika extract compost which you can also purchase directly from our webshop.
Step 4 - Place the sieve in the holder
Step 4
Place the cylindrical screen of the compost extraction system in the central holder.
Step 5 - Place screen diffuser stone
Step 5
Open the air supply to the sieve diffuser stone and place it in the middle to the bottom of the sieve.
Step 6 - Adjust air flow valve
Step 6
Set the air flow valve to the desired strength.
Step 7 - Close & run 24h
Step 7
Close the system with the lid and let the machine run for 24 hours to transform the filling into high-quality compost extract.
Step 8 - Drain extract
Step 8
Drain the finished compost extract into the desired application device.
Step 9 - Apply extract
Step 9
Compost extracts can be applied in different ways and with the help of different equipment. Please note that your freshly prepared extract should be applied immediately and at a pressure below 5 bar. KEX is not suitable for storage!
